Attempted kidnapping in FDL, man, 21, arrested | By Lt. Alex Volm

June 30, 2026 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On June 29, 2026, at approximately 3:37 p.m. deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s
Office were dispatched to an area of the Mascoutin Valley Trail in the Village of Rosendale near the intersection of Willow Creek Road.

A 27-year-old female reported that while walking with her 1-year-old son on the trail in a stroller, an unknown male approached her.

 

The female reported this male attacked her by putting a white cloth over her mouth and grabbing her around the neck.

 

The female was able to fight off her attacker and run back to her nearby residence with

her son before contacting 911.

 

Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives canvassed the area. The female provided a detailed description of the suspect and a vehicle.

 

Supported by eyewitness reports and security cameras, a 21-year-old male suspect was identified.


At approximately 10:46 p.m. deputies and detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in
the Village of Rosendale.

 

A 21-year-old male was arrested. He is being held on charges of attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery.

 

No interviews or further information will be released at this time as this investigation is ongoing.

 

If or when charged with a crime, authorities say additional details will be released in a criminal complaint filed with

the courts.

 

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, all evidence points to this being an isolated incident and there is no remaining threat to the public.
