Letter to the Editor | Zwygart and Rebholz for West Bend School Board | By Ron Larson

March 26, 2021 – West Bend, Wi – Vote for the Z’s…Zwygart and Rebholz for West Bend School Board.

As a conservative voter, I support Chris and Kurt for re-election to the West Bend School Board. My daughter is excelling in rigorous college coursework thanks to her K-12 teachers while my son will graduate from West Bend East with a certificate in computer technology and multiple AP credits.  The depth of technical, athletic, and collegiate opportunities in the WBSD is unparalleled.

Board President, Chris Zwygart is Vice-President and Chief Legal Officer at West Bend Mutual. A graduate of Marquette Law School, attorney and CPA, his keen intellect brings immense value to our board. His past and present service includes Board Chair of Froedtert West Bend, Cedar Community Foundation Board, and Treasurer at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.

Treasurer, Kurt Rebholz is Co-Founder/President of Bay MarketForce, a local sales and marketing firm. A 27 year resident of West Bend, Kurt and his wife Jenny chose this community for its outstanding school district. Kurt’s children are successful WBSD alumni. Kurt can often be found supporting athletics, assisting with graduation events, and attending extracurricular functions throughout our district.

Through their work on the board parents were provided in-person or virtual options for class this year. In addition, they worked closely with administration to ensure a balanced budget during a complicated year. There was also no increase in the property mill rate for our taxpayers.

With roots in West Bend for 75 years, I am happy my children maintained the family tradition as WBSD alumni. This community has historically embraced its public schools as a cornerstone to its success. We continue to see great partnerships between businesses, schools, non-profits, and our residents. What has been particularly encouraging is having conservative leaders like Chris and Kurt who  work for students and community, not personal agendas and polarizing politics.

Through this past year, I have heard parents in the district, as well as friends in neighboring districts praise the manner in which the WBSD has successfully navigated the pandemic. Gratitude for their successful efforts to provide in-class opportunities, ensure athletic events, and work closely with administrators and health teams to protect students’ well-being. The values of Zwygart and Rebholz reflect the community’s values: fiscal conservatism, quality education, and respectful leadership. Vote for the Z’s!
