Washington Co., WI – Murphy & Prachthauser, S.C., a personal injury law firm with offices in West Bend, Milwaukee, South Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Mequon, Wisconsin, announced the opening of registration for a life jacket giveaway, to encourage the use of U.S. Coast Guard-approved flotation devices while swimming or boating in Milwaukee area waterways this summer.
Pre-registration is required to receive a life jacket and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registrants may select from infant life jackets, child life jackets (30-50 lbs.), and youth life jackets (50-90 lbs.).

Murphy & Prachthauser’s giveaway events will take place on Saturday, May 14 at the firm’s Waukesha location and on Saturday, May 21 during the West Bend Farmer’s Market.
Pre-registered children must be present at one of the two events to receive a free life jacket and to ensure proper fitting of the device.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary, the civilian uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard, will support Murphy & Prachthauser’s life jacket giveaway events by providing:

â—Ź Proper life jacket fitting for each child
â—Ź Instruction on how to properly use a life jacket
â—Ź Water safety Q&A
Milwaukee-area residents who would like to receive a free child life jacket must pre-register at www.murphyprachthauser.com/life-jacket-giveaway and will be required to select the number of jackets requested, sizes, and pick-up date and location.
Hockers added, “Sadly, drowning occurrences have risen in recent years, but are preventable when the proper safety measures and supervision are provided. Our team is committed to helping spread awareness, education, and the necessary resources to help families stay safe while swimming or boating during the warmer months ahead.”
