Jackson, Wi – This fall marks a milestone year for Living Word Lutheran High School in Jackson, Wisconsin, as the school celebrates 25 years of ministry while also welcoming its largest student body in school history with over 300 students.
Since opening its doors in 2001, Living Word’s mission has remained constant: to open God’s Word and open kids’ worlds. Over the past quarter-century, the school has guided students to grow in faith, excel academically, explore their gifts, and live out Christ’s love in their communities.
“As I reflect on Living Word, as it enters 25 years of operations, I’m humbled by all the ways our Lord has advanced this place and its work. All the staff, volunteers, parents, and, of course, the many students, have built this special place into what it is now and continue to dream and strive to even greater heights.,” said executive director Dave Miskimen, who has served at Living Word since its founding.
That legacy of ministry continues into the 2025–2026 school year, which also brings another first for the school: record enrollment. This year, 95 freshmen make up the Class of 2029, joined by several transfer students, pushing Living Word’s total enrollment to over 300 students—the first time the school has crossed this threshold.
“We are excited and humbled to be serving over 300 students this school year. Our students are talented, diverse, and have their hearts set on Christ,” said Principal John Simonis. “Our continued growth is a powerful reminder that God has great plans for all of us in the Living Word community, and we are eager to see how he blesses all of us this year.”
As Living Word looks ahead, the excitement is not just about the numbers but about the lives being impacted for Christ.
“Christ is indeed our Rock. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Christ alone, has been the driving and preserving source of the Living Word culture. He is why from day one to year 25 and beyond, the signature of Living Word Lutheran High School is talented professionals who serve Christ by serving young people, putting the mission of serving students first in all things,” Miskimen said.
Living Word Lutheran High School is located in Jackson, Wisconsin, serving students from across the greater metro Milwaukee area. The school offers a Christ-centered education with a focus on academic excellence, personal relationships, and a wide range of extracurricular opportunities.
