May 19, 2025 – Hartford, WI – Michael Francis Powers, 47, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Powers

Mike was born on July 30, 1978, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Richard (Gen) Powers and Susie (nee Bonack) (Gerry) Ganske. He graduated from Herzing University with his bachelor’s degree. Mike used this degree to be a computer programmer and had a long 22-year career working for Broan.

On June 28,2003, Mike married Kate, the love of his life. Together, they joyfully raised three girls. A proud “girl dad”, Mike fully embraced each of his daughters’ interests.

Whether it was cheering at dance recitals and volleyball games or supporting his daughter’s passion for art as it blossomed into a career.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing and gaming. As a true Wisconsinite, he was a devoted fan of the Packers, Bucks and Brewers. His laughter was contagious- if you heard Mike laugh, you were likely laughing too.

Mike was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father. He will be deeply missed by all.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Kate; children Haley, Farren, and Stella; parents Rick and Gen, Susie and Gerry; siblings Paula (Troy) Holzman, Jami Powers, and Lisa (Jermey) Christian; brothers-in-law Barry (Molly) Fies, Terry (Jenna) Fies; sister-in-law Karen (Jackson) Nguyen; many nieces and nephews, and many other loved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Lee Powers Jr.; sister Katie Powers; and Aunt Gloria Turban.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St. Hartford, WI). Visitation will begin at 10:00am and a short service will take place at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Powers family. Mike and his family have been fighting/battling Glioblastoma, stage four brain cancer for the past four and a half years and would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
