Moraine Park Students Recognized at Annual Student Award Banquet | Moraine Park News Service

May 24, 2018 – The hard work and academic achievement of Moraine Park Technical College students was recognized during the College’s annual Student Awards Banquet held at The Golf Club at Camelot in Lomira on May 11, 2018.

Moraine Park presented the 2018 Student of the Year Award to Joseph Jaeger of Richfield. The Student of the Year Award is designed to recognize a student who excelled in and outside of the classroom and has taken full advantage of the opportunities that Moraine Park has made available for them.

The 2018-19 District Student Ambassador Award was presented to Aurelio Rosas of Beaver Dam. The Moraine Park District Student Ambassador Award identifies outstanding students in the technical college system, with nominations solicited from faculty and staff in the spring semester of each year.

Technical Achievement Awards were presented to 26 students. To receive this award, recipients must be enrolled in a technical diploma program and have maintained a 3.25 GPA. They are judged on classroom participation and other contributions and characteristics that exemplify an outstanding student. Recipients were: Alex Canfield of Jackson, Jared Deming of Jackson, Aaron Dyszelski of North Prairie, Alex Elandt of Madison, Nick Freres of Brookfield, Ryan George of Fond du Lac, Aaron Harnisch of Fond du Lac, Scott Hutchings of Neenah, Jacob Kastenmeier of Beaver Dam, Evan Kehrmeyer of Mayville, Trevor Kirst of Kewaskum, William Kraus of Jackson, Peter Lomis of Mequon, Scott Pooch of Sun Prairie, Zach Rabideau of Jackson, James Ruissen of Brandon, Troy Sabel of Fond du Lac, Hunter Scannell of West Bend, Taylor Schauer of Plymouth, Isaac Schrage of West Bend, Dakota Schraufnagel of Campbellsport, Scott Steger of West Bend, Anastasia Szczesny of Iron Ridge, Sam Trace of Arlington, Spencer Walczak of Sheboygan, and Heidi Zerillo of West Bend.

Campus Impact Awards were presented to 23 students. The Campus Impact Award recognizes students who have served the College by participating in a college focus group, a college-related function, or a club/ student government activity or project. Other considerations include GPA, reliability and follow-through.

Recipients were: Jeremiah Alderden of Beaver Dam, Isabel Clark of Chilton, Jessica Corbett of West Bend, Megan Darge of Mayville, Dominic DeLaura of Slinger, Christine Gil of Randolph, Julia Gruber of West Bend, Holly Halfman of Fond du Lac, Timothy Homuth of West Bend, Harley Jackson of Fond du Lac, Elizabeth Kahlow of Fond du Lac, Dylon Kessler of Brownsville, Cody Liesener of Campbellsport, Hunter Minning of Watertown, Leah Pietrangelo of West Bend, Brad Quackenboss of Fond du Lac, Dakota Schraufnagel of Campbellsport, Rebecca Smith of West Bend, Joshua Strnad of Rio, Jon Szczesny of Iron Ridge, Quintin Trainor of Lodi, Jennifer Viarski of Waukesha, and Spencer Walczak of Sheboygan.

The Meritorious Service Award is granted to students who have served the College through their leadership and participation in co-curricular activities such as student clubs, student government or other volunteer opportunities.

The Leadership and Service Awards were presented to 12 students. Leadership & Service Award is reserved for members of Moraine Park’s Student Government.  Taken into consideration is a student’s comprehensive level of commitment to the college and their representation of the student body through their attendance and engagement in Student Government and its related opportunities.  Recipients were: Parker Byrnes of Oshkosh, Phil Conley of Waupun, Sheila Delvaux of Kewaskum, Joseph Jaeger of Richfield, Elizabeth Martin of North Fond du Lac, Alex McCleary of Fond du Lac, Malinda Moore of Fond du Lac, James Ruissen of Brandon, Madison Schueller of Grafton, Bethany Treder of Juneau, Conrad Wandler of Necedah, and Queenie Weesen of Mequon.
