More accusations against Dave Hanke, however, no additional charges. Next court appearance in April

Jan. 31, 2017 – Slinger, WI – Former Slinger High School band director David Hanke appeared in Washington County Court on Monday with his attorney William Andrew Mayer. Hanke is facing one Class D felony charge of alleged sexual assault of a student.

The alleged assault reportedly happened 17 years ago.

According to Washington County Sheriff’s Lt. Bob Konstanz there have been several other similar complaints. However, Konstanz told Fox 6 in Milwaukee that Hanke will not face any new charges because the statute of limitations has expired in connection with those alleged incidents.

On Monday Attorney Stephanie Hanson appeared for the state. The circuit court report said “counsel just received discovery and request adjournment for follow up.”

A preliminary hearing is set for April 5, 2017 at 8:15 am.

Hanke taught in the Slinger School District for 37 years. He retired in 2012.
