Newburg man rescued from silo | By Washington Co. Sheriff

September 16, 2021 – Newburg, WI -The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was called to a farm, 5036 Church Road, in Newburg on September 13, 2021 at 6:24 p.m. for a man reportedly stuck in a silo.

According to Sheriff Martin Schulteis the 29-year-old male farmer became trapped in silo when “hay” and “silage” became piled at the base during loading operations.

The farmer was stuck in the silo and upon the deputy’s arrival he found the wife was attempting to remove the excessive material.

The deputy was able to assist and the farmer was freed within about 15 minutes from the deputy’s arrival.

Although the farmer had a hard time breathing during the incident, he declined medical treatment.
