No. 3 Hartford Union HS girls basketball advances to WIAA D1 semifinals

March 3, 2024 – Hartford, WI – The No. 3 seed Hartford Union High School girls basketball team advanced to the WIAA Division 1 semifinals.

 

Hartford improved to 26-2 on the season with a convincing 70-55 win over top seed Brookfield East (22-5).

The Orioles ended the Spartans season and advance to the WIAA semifinals Friday, March 8 at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

Hartford will play No. 3 Neenah during the second game of the night on Friday, March 8.

DIVISION 1
Semifinals – Friday, March 8
Game-1:  #1 Arrowhead (25-3) vs. #4 Franklin (20-8) – 6:35 p.m.
Game-2:  #3 Neenah (23-5) vs. #2 Hartford (26-2) – Approx. 15 minutes following Game-1

Championship Final – Saturday, March 9
Game-3:  Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 – Approx. 15 minutes following Div. 2 championship game

Hartford wasn’t the only team to drop a top seed in D1 as Neenah, Muskego, and Arrowhead all finished with upset victories.

Other winners from Friday night include No. 3 Neenah over No. 1 Hortonville 82-72, No. 2 Franklin over No. 1 Muskego 54-50, and No. 2 Arrowhead over No. 1 Oregon 65-54.

The WIAA will be releasing more information later today.
