Obit: Ann E. Hefter, 87, Slinger

HefterAnnE.Ann E. Hefter (nee Loosen) age 87 of Slinger, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 2, 1929 in Milwaukee to Henry and Julia (nee Schnitzler) Loosen. She was united in marriage to Eugene Hefter on June 19, 1954 at Holy Hill National Shrine of Mary.

Ann graduated from Oshkosh State Teaching College. She taught high school math and science. She retired from Associated Bank. Ann was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed family time, baking, gardening, traveling and knitting.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Eugene, beloved mother of Gregory (Janis) Hefter, Mark Hefter, Douglas (Martha) Hefter, Kay (Jay) Kaun, June (Mark) Ernst and Julie (Michael) Hamm, proud grandma to West Hefter (fiancé Brittany Windall), Nicholas Hefter (fiancé Kayla Kaminski), Lauren Ernst, Sarah Ernst, Alexander Hamm and Jonathan Hamm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Anthony and Peter Loosen, her sister, Patricia Marek and a grandson Erik Hefter.

Mass of Christian Burial for Ann will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, (4886 Hwy 175, Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. Davies Edassery officiating.  Family will greet relatives and friends at church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. mass.

Interment in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, St. Lawrence, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Slinger Community Food Pantry or the Vince Lombardi Cancer Research Fund are appreciated.

The Hefter Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Patricia Liethan, Dr. Ellen L. Zaija and Dr. Thomas H. Zukowski and all of Aurora Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care of Ann.
