Obit: Audrey M. Herriges, 82,

Audrey M. Herriges, (nee Uelmen) 82, entered eternal life on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at home with her loving family at her side.

She was born on December 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Albert and Christina (nee Schlosser) Uelmen.  Audrey was united in marriage to Richard Herriges on June 23, 1956, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in St. Michaels.

Audrey worked at the St. Josephs Community Hospital for 25 years before retiring in 1998.  She was a lifelong member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and a member of the Christian Women.

Audrey was very family oriented and spending time with her family was always a must. She often organized the parties and cooked all the food for everyone making sure nobody left with an empty stomach.  Audrey had a real passion for being in the kitchen and did everything from wedding cake decoration to canning.  In her spare time she enjoyed crafting, sewing, embroidering and gardening.

Those Audrey leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 60 years, Richard; eight children, Dennis (Joann) Herriges of Kewaskum, Russell (Joan) Herriges of Kewaskum, Cindy (Dale) Poling of Cedarburg, Charlene (Allan) Jaeger of Franksville, Mark (Jackie) Herriges of Kewaskum, Chris (Toby) Mueller of Kewaskum, Jean (special friend Todd) Herriges of Kewaskum and Kevin Herriges of Kewaskum; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Harriet Peters of Neno, Marion (Paul) Yank of Cedarburg, Joan Lehr of Fond Du Lac and Catherine (John) Machacek of Slinger; three brothers-in-law, Leander (Erlene) Herriges of Campbellsport, Brother Isidore Herriges of Mt. Calvary and John Niemeier of St. Peter, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene (Edward) Schneider; a brother, Harold (Laverne) Uelmen; two brothers-in-law, Donald Peters and Ernie Lehr and a sister-in-law, Adeline Niemeier.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Audrey will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road in the Town of Kewaskum with Fr. Edwin Kornath officiating.

The Herriges family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.

The Herriges family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Seasons Hospice and all of Audrey’s caregivers for the wonderful care they gave her for many years.
