Dolores R. Cornette (nee Weitermann), 78, of the Town of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, West Bend
She was born on June 5, 1937 to the late William and Selma (nee Hasenjager) Weitermann, in Sturgeon Bay, WI. She grew up in Door County. She graduated as Val Victorian from Sevastopol High School. After high school she worked at the court house in Sturgeon Bay. On July 13, 1957 she was united in marriage to Donald Cornette at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Sturgeon Bay. For thirty plus years she worked at Briggs & Stratton Corporation. In her later years she worked part time at Kohl’s department store in West Bend.
She enjoyed many activities including snowmobiling, country dancing and traveling to many areas of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and abroad. She took great pride in her gardening, planting flowers and yardwork. Much of her time was spent caring for her husband for many years and they enjoyed watching NASCAR races, Packers games, and country music shows with their family. She loved to spend time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved to throw parties with other family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those Dolores leaves behind to cherish her memories include her daughter, Cynthia (Paul) Gagan of Jackson; two grandchildren, Carli (Tom) Weber of West Bend, and Kyle (Christy) Gagan of Jackson; Three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Luke, and Jace Weber; sister, Joyce Kiehnau; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by he husband, Donald; sister, Laverne (Wallace) Bley; brother, Orland (Ann) Weitermann; brother in law, Michael Kiehnau
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, (138 N. 8th Ave.), West Bend.
Dolores’s family will be greeting family and friends on Tuesday at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
