Obit: Donald A. Rosenthal, 75, Hartford

Donald A. Rosenthal, age 75 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Cedar Lake Community in West Bend with his beloved wife by his side.

He was born on May 6, 1940 in the town of Leroy, WI to Irene Rosenthal and was raised by his cherished grandparents, Art and Olga Rosenthal.  He was united in marriage to Sandra Jung on October 21, 1972 at St. Martin’s United Church of Christ in Fillmore, WI. Don worked for Maysteel Manufacturing in Allenton for many years. He was a longtime member of St. John’s U.C.C. in Hartford.  He enjoyed fishing and pitching horseshoes.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Rosenthal; dear siblings, Karen (Todd) Frederickson and siblings-in-law, Adeline (Franklin) Held, Joyce Doll, Ruth Golnick, Betty (Eugene) Latch; Judy (Jerry) Fahney, Sharon (Peter) Zirtzlaff, Pat Jelnick, Carol (Russell) Fellenz, Ralph (Sandy) Jung, Dale (Pam) Jung, and Shirley Jung; and his dear aunts, Arlis Crook and Adeline Ovenschier. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other loved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Art and Olga Rosenthal; mother, Irene Rosenthal; parents-in-law, Oscar and Amelia Jung; siblings-in-law, infant Lloyd Jung, Florence (Willard) Degnitz, Vernon Jung, James Golnick, Lyle Bender; uncles; niece, Jody Jung, and his nephew, Craig Jung; several other relatives and dear friends.

Memorial funeral services for Don will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 3:00p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor James Schleif officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00p.m.

Inurnment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. John’s United Church of Christ (228 W. State Street Hartford, WI 53027) or to the charity of one’s choice are appreciated.
