Herbert was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 10, 1939 and was raised in Montana. He was the son of Herbert and Sophie (Ludwig) Wichmann. Herbert was a lifelong resident of Jackson, Wisconsin.
In his early years he worked the family ranch. In joining the army, he met his sweetheart Patricia in Yakima, Washington. They were married on January 10, 1962 and made their way to Wisconsin.
Herbert loved to build and anything mechanical intrigued him. Owning his own trucking company for many years and seeing the country was a passion he was able to fulfill.
Later, he worked for Ram Tool in Grafton where his knowledge and precision was appreciated by all.
During his retirement years, he loved to spend time with all his grandchildren and going to their respective sporting events. His favorite hobby was planting sweet corn and donating to the local food bank. He wanted to give back and had so much to give.
A funeral service for Herbert will be held on Wednesday July 6th, 2016. Visitation will begin at 4 pm with a memorial service to follow at 6 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church (2881 Division Road, Jackson Wisconsin).
