March 28, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Jeffrey D. Greenthal of West Bend died on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Aurora Medical Center Ozaukee County at the age of 69 years. He was born on October 19, 1947 in Milwaukee to the late Edward and Doris (nee Whear) Greenthal.
On May 21, 1977, he was united in marriage to Sharon (nee McGurk) Connors in Muskego. One of the proudest days of his life was August 23, 1978 when Colleen, Kevin and Terri adopted him as their dad. His greatest accomplishment was being a loving husband, fantastic father and proud grandfather.
Jeff’s accomplished career included Caterpillar, Inc., the former Butler Paper Company, and retired from Caliendo-Savio Enterprises.
He was well known among family and friends alike as the “King of Corkball.”
He was a founding member and bass guitarist of The Coachmen, a popular band from the south side of Milwaukee in the 1960’s.
Jeff loved to plan parties and family gatherings, man the grill, and cheer for his grandkids at their various events. His quick wit, charm and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Sharon; children Colleen (Rob) Mas, Kevin (Lori) Greenthal and Terri Yerges; 8 grandchildren: Ryan, Megan and Mackenzie Mas, Gavin, Josie and Kacie Greenthal and Nathan and Madeline Yerges; his brother Jules (Bonnie) Greenthal; his sister Jacqueline Metzke; his brother-in-law Michael (Mary Beth) McGurk; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was welcomed into Heaven by his grandson Connor Jeffrey Greenthal and 3 brothers Jack, James and Jerry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 5 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Repenshek presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 3 until 4:45 p.m. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
