Jeffrey C. Rettler “Jeff”, age 62 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed peacefully on March 8th, 2016, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 1, 1954 in Hartford, WI to Alex P. and Frances M. (nee Sterr) Rettler. Jeff was united in marriage to Janet M. Roethle on October 4, 1975 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rubicon, WI. He worked for Menasha Packaging Corporation for 42 years in Hartford. He was also a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. In this spare time, Jeff enjoyed many things in his short life that included his yearly trips to Nashville, traveling to various cities with his family for concerts to wait endless hours to sit in that front row, and the many Becker “get togethers” throughout the years. Most important was spending time with his two granddaughters, Kamryn and Amber, which was always at the top of his list. As Jeff enters heaven, he will most likely be waiting his turn to sit on his tractor and cut the lawn, even if it doesn’t need cutting according to his son.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Janet Rettler; loving son, Greg (Tiffany) Rettler of Hartford; his two cherished granddaughters, Kamryn and Amber Rettler; dear siblings, James (Janice) Rettler, Carlene (Gene) Schuster, Harvey (Lucy) Rettler, and Allan (Dolores) Rettler; dear siblings-in-law, Leroy (Debbie) Roethle, Rita (Bob) Gehring, Clarence (Sue) Roethle, Carl (Linda) Roethle, Paul (Kathy) Roethle, Barb (Perry) Justman, Phyllis (Francis) Merkes, Jerome (Karen) Roethle, and Denise (Henry) Becker; brother-in-law Richard Dueck and sister-in-law Trish Roethle. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex & Frances Rettler; parents-in-law, Norbert & Marcella Roethle; and his siblings-in-law, Melvin Roethle, Sharon Dueck, Albert Roethle, and Kenneth Roethle.
To honor Jeff’s wishes, private services will be held.
