Obit: Kenneth “Buck” Averill, 81,

June 2, 2017 – Kewaskum, WI – Ken “Buck” C. Averill, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.  He was born January 13, 1936 to William and Cecilia (nee May) Averill.  He served in the Marine Corps from 1956 – 1958.  He worked at Amity and owned a tavern called Elbow Room from 1960 – 1961. He worked for Capelle Bros and Dietrich as a laborer for 40 years.  Buck enjoyed golfing and gambling.  Buck married Lynn (nee Scherr) on October 22, 1960.

 

He was a member of Hon E Kor Country Club from 1964 until 2016 and was also a member of the American Legion Post #483 in Kewaskum.   Buck loved woodworking and above all, spending time with his family.

 

He is survived by his wife, Lynn; son Jesse (Missy); daughter Jodi (Steve) Stray; grandchildren, Nick (Leah), Travis (fiancée Val Hedlund), Tyler and Erika Stray; sister Ginny (Merle) Miller; brother Paul Averill; sister-in-law Carol Averill; sister-in-law Annie Kreuser; brother-in-law Marvin (Marlene) Scherr; other relatives and many dear friends.

 

Buck is preceded in death by his parents; step-father Vincent Averill; brothers, Jerry (Val) and Ralph Averill; sister Arlene (Leo) Hansen; siblings-in-law, Dick Kreuser, Mary Jane (Erhardt) Krueger, Billy (Janice) Scherr, Shirley Scherr; mother-in-law Mary Scherr.

 

The Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (331 Main St, Kewaskum, WI  53040) with Fr. Ed Kornath presiding.  The Visitation will be held at church on Monday, June 5th from 3:00 PM until the time of Mass at 6:00 PM.
