Obit: Lawrence N. “Larry” Chase, 85, West Bend

Lawrence N. “Larry” Chase, 85, of West Bend, entered eternal life on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab in West Bend.

He was born on June 01, 1930 in West Bend, the son of the late Nelson and Meta (nee Braun) Chase and on August 13, 1960, Larry was united in marriage to Mary Jane LeMahieu in West Bend.

Growing up in West Bend Larry attended McLane Elementary and Graduated from West Bend High School.  After graduation he served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Upon returning home Larry attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  He taught business education in both Seymour and Oak Creek before returning to West Bend to work at B.C. Ziegler Company.

Larry was a past president of the West Bend Kiwanis Club, a member of the Barton VFW and treasure of both the Barton Historical Society and Kettle Moraine Sport Riders.  He also volunteered as a youth hockey coach for the WCYHA and served on the board of directors at River Edge Nature Center.

Those Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Mary Jane; three sons, Scott (Terese) Chase of Brookfield, Brian (Lori) Chase of Fall River and Peter (Stacy) Chase of Woodbury, MN; six grandchildren, Jocelyn and Julia Chase of Brookfield, Ashley Reid of Mission Viejo, CA, Kory Conrad of Fall River and Erin and Ethan Chase of Woodbury, MN; a brother, Ronald (Terri) Chase of Tucson, AZ; a brother-in-law, Dan (Mary Hummel) LeMahieu of Wilmette, IL, two nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service for Larry will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First St., in Kewaskum.  Rev Eric. Kirkegaard will officiate and burial will follow on Friday at Washington County Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.

The Chase family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Cedar Community and Peace United Church of Christ are appreciated.

The Chase family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cedar Community and Rev. Eric of Peace Church for all their support.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Larry’s arrangements.
