Obit: Leonard Edwin Heimermann, 88, of Hartford. Leonard was a farmer in the Hartford area and worked at Broan Manufacturing until his retirement.

Jan. 28, 2017 – Hartford, WI – Leonard Edwin Heimermann age 88, surrounded by family, found peace on Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was born in Charlesburg, WI on November 2, 1928 to parents Ludwig and Dorothy (nee Buechel) Heimermann. Leonard was united in marriage to Eleanor Beyer on September 17, 1949. He was a farmer in the Hartford area and worked at Broan Manufacturing until his retirement.

He enjoyed traveling the world, including Australia, Europe and the Panama Canal. Woodworking, hunting and fishing were favorite hobbies. Leonard loved listening to polka music, spending time with family and will be remembered for his sense of humor.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife Eleanor; six children, Sandra (Dennis) Haro, Daniel (Linda), Randall (Sheila), Dale, Gail (Gary) Ricker and Debra Brandt; thirteen grandchildren, Kevin (Jen) Haro, Jamie (special friend Scott) Haro, Dana (David) Arrowood, Jenny (Aaron) Stelter, Nathan (special friend Anne) Heimermann, Justin (special friend Ellie) Heimermann, Katie (Austin) Luckow, Megan (special friend Mitchell) Heimermann, Adam, Eric and Ellen Heimermann, Nicholas (Becky) Ricker, Stephanie (John) Schmitt; thirteen great-grandchildren, Sofia, Coda, Bryce, Ethan, Zavier, Abigail, Paul, Colton, Mikayla, Mikenna, Mason, Miyah and Madeline; one brother, Ray (Joanne); one sister, Lorraine (Tom) Bowe; one brother-in-law, Roland Kelly; one sister-in-law, Donna Heimermann. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer (Margaret), Melvin (Rosie), and Lester; sisters, Marcella (Albert) Straub and Evangeline (Robert) Meyer; granddaughter, Sara Heimermann; brothers-in-law, Fred (Elizabeth) Beyer, Oscar Beyer; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Beyer and Viola Kelly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford on Thursday, February 2 at 12:30 PM. Visitation at the church from 10:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association.
