Obit: Lucile Helen Roecker (nee Hoefs), 102, of Hartford

August 7, 2018 – Hartford, WI – Lucile Helen Roecker (nee Hoefs), 102, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Serenity Villa in Slinger.

Lucile was born November 25, 1915 in Hartford, WI to William and Alvina (nee Mittlesteadt) Hoefs. She was united in marriage to Reuben E. Roecker on November 28, 1942 at Erin Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Lucile was a longtime member and organist at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed helping on the family farm, picking cherry’s, and gardening both vegetables and flowers. She was an avid crossword puzzle player and also loved playing cards and reading.

Lucile is survived by her 3 loving sons, David (Mary Ann) of Mayville, Donald (Nancy) of Hartford and Gerald (Donna) of Allenton; 10 cherished grandchildren; 31 cherished great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Lorraine Roecker. She is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 63 years, Reuben; siblings, Ervin, Walter (Ruth), and Harlan Hoefs.

Funeral Services for Lucile will be held on August 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Community Center (N6409 Hwy P Mayville, WI 53050) with Pastor Jeffery Drake officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the Community Center from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Interment in Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Herman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (W691 County Road S Hartford, WI 53027) or a charity of one’s choice are greatly appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Villa and Horizon Hospice for their loving care of Lucile.
