Obit: Monica A. Schulz, 79, of West Bend.

April 9, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Monica A. Schulz (nee Watry), age 79 years of West Bend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Ivy Manor.

Monica was born in Dacada, WI on November 10, 1937 to Jacob and Margaret (nee Lesch) Watry.  She attended Port Washington High School and later Alverno College.  Monica married James A. Schulz on February 1, 1958.  The couple was the owner and operator of Schulz Realty and Schulz Homes.  She was the first woman president of the Washington Co. Board of Realtors, member and president of the Lion’s Club of West Bend.  Monica enjoyed spending time at their cottage, traveling, golfing, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her catholic faith was of great importance in Monica’s life.

Monnie was the beloved wife of Jim, loving mother of Dale (Fran), Lynn (Bob) Ward, Karen (Jim) Lutz, Kay (Jim) Beilke, Brian (Laura), daughter-in-law Suzanne Propoggio.  Cherished grandmother of Heidi (Joe) Spingola, Kristina (Matt) Buettner, James and Kimberli Ward, Joclyn (Ben) Anderson, Joe (Katelyn) Lutz and Megan Lutz, Allen, Jason and Elizabeth Beilke, Zachary and Jacob Schulz, Hannah and Hayley Schulz, great-grandchildren Avlynn and William Spingola, Ethan Schulz, siblings Dolores Tock, Rosemary Pozy, her twin Mildred (John) Lanser, Catherine Kearn, Ginny (Richard) Junge, Susie (Tim) Newman, siblings-in-law Doris Watry, Carol Watry, Ervin Karrels, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Preceded in death by her parents, son Dean, grandson Joshua, siblings Agnes Egerer, Eugene Watry, Richard Watry, infant Robert Watry, Walter Watry, Ralph Watry, Elaine Karrels, Janice Phillips and Janet Hogan.

A Funeral Service will be at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend with Chaplain Ron Schneider presiding.  Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, April 17 from 3:00 pm until time of service (5:30pm).  Memorials are appreciated to the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation (10427 W. Lincoln Ave., West Allis, WI 53227).
