Obit: Nancy K. McHugh, nee Inbusch, 86, of

 

April 29, 2019 – Nancy K. McHugh, nee Inbusch died on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Kathy Hospice at the age of 86 years.  She was born on May 19, 1931 in Milwaukee to the late Frank and Elsie (nee Steigerwald) Inbusch.

She grew up in Milwaukee, attending local schools.  She graduated with the Class of 1949 from the former Holy Angels High School.  She then attended Mount Mary College, earning her bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

On November 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Edward J. McHugh in Milwaukee.  Edward predeceased January 29, 1995.

Together, they made their home in Milwaukee where they raised their 5 children.  Nancy worked as a Head Start teacher at various Catholic schools in Milwaukee.

Throughout the years, her children and later grandchildren were her primary focus.  She was an active participant at many of their activities, sporting events and concerts.

Survivors include 5 children: Diane (Rich) Nielsen of West Bend, Jeff of Madison, Julie (Randy) Tauber of Madison, John (Ursula Reisch) of Redondo Beach, CA and Tim of Lubbock, TX; 9 grandchildren: Kevin, Kelly, Katie, Danny, Patrick, Timmy, Evan, Brett, Justin; 4 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Hailey, Natalie and Everett; sister-in-law Carol (Ray) Wilson of West Bend; special friends Jack and Eileen Koller of Brookfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 grandchild E.J. McHugh, 1 brother Frank Inbusch and 1 sister Betty (Floyd) Michalski.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 9 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Rev. Patrick Heppe officiating.  Private burial will be at a later date.  The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 8 until 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Kathy Hospice.
