Obit: Robert A. Cruff, 78 Hartford

Robert Allen Cruff, 78, of Hartford passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2016 with his wife, daughters and sister by his side.

Robert was born in Valley City, ND on August 16, 1937 to the late Bernard and Minda (nee Shegstad) Cruff.  On May 16, 1959 he was united in marriage to his beloved, Roberta Ellen Morris in Milwaukee.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958 on the U.S.S. Corry.  Upon returning home, he worked at American Motors.  He retired from A.O. Smith in 1992.  After that he drove the Hartford City Taxi.   Robert was an avid Packer and Brewers fan and loved collecting sports memorabilia.    He loved spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving wife and 4 daughters:  Melinda (Mike) Kramer, Julie Mills, Rebecca (Brian) Schick, and Jennifer (Josef) Spudich; 12 grandchildren: Brooke (Aaron) Sharpiro, Ashley (Michael) Bonk, Dylan Birmingham, Kaitlan (Adam) Shea,  Abigail Mills, Alex Mills,  Sophia, Gavin, and Noah Schick, Samantha, Jack and Gabrielle Spudich; and 4 great grandchildren:  Beckham, Blakely, Bronson, and Scarlett.

He is further survived by 2 sisters;  Judith Corn of Hartford and Cheryle (Ken) Frasheski of Michigan;  sister-in-laws:  Carol (the late Henry) Orth, Joan (Nick) Orth, Manuella (the late Ronald) Cruff, and Barbara Morris.  He was predeceased by his 3 brothers:  Richard, Douglas (the late Janet), and Ronald.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Robert will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027.  Family will greet relatives and friends from 4 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Private internment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.   A special thank you to the staff of Kathy Hospice for their wonderful care.
