Ronald J. Ostranger, age 85, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at his residence. Ron was born on June 10, 1931 to Joseph and Alice Ostranger. He was raised in Milwaukee and moved to West Bend in 1975.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1953 working in graves registration. On September 10, 1976, he married MaryAnn (nee Quade).  He worked at Wisconsin Gas Company for 45 years.  Ron was a member of American Legion Gen. Charles King Post #406 for 39 years.
He is survived by his wife MaryAnn, his children, Julie, Karen, Susan, Christy, Tammy (Pat) Oreskovic, Patrick (Kim) and Andrew, grandchildren, Matthew, Alia, Sarah, Samantha, Sydney, Gabrielle, Wyatt, Nicole, Kaley and Christopher, great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Daniel, Anthony and Riley, sister, Carol (Ron) Lyman, sister-in-law, Mary Jo Johnson, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, youngest son Brian Joseph and nephew, Nicholas.
A Memorial Service for Ron will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 6:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church (2881 Division Rd, Jackson) with Pastor Paul Mittermaier presiding.  The visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18th at church from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM.  Private interment of cremains will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Eric Weber, Dr. Thomas Zukowski, Dr. Corsten, Dr. I. Malik, Dr. Cooley, Dr. Moretti, Dr. Medved, all of the Aurora Medical Center and Dr. Garvey who came in from his vacation for Ron’s emergency surgery in July.  Also, thank you to Sandy, Sarah, Nancy, Kathy, Jamie, and Dawn from Aurora.
