Obit: Russell Strobel, 42, Hartford

Russell F. Strobel, age 42 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

He was born on March 14, 1973 to Albert and Karen (nee Schumacher) Strobel. Russ was united in marriage to Connie Deprey on August 19, 1995 in Jackson, WI.

Russ loved racing and working on cars, he frequently could be found in the garage working on odd projects. He also loved to collect Volkswagens and old toys.  Russ’s favorite holiday was Halloween and his home was always the most decked out in the neighborhood so everyone knew it was his.  Russ’s family and friends attest that he was the most kind-hearted individual and full of endless ideas for new projects. He cared deeply for those who were close to him. He battled and overcame cancer three times in his life, however, it took a toll on him. He is no longer suffering and is with God and family who preceded him.

Russ is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his beloved children, Tyler and Bailey; his mother, Karen Tronecker; his brother, Al Strobel; step-brother and step-sisters, nieces and nephews. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Strobel; step-father, William Tronecker; brother, Fred Strobel; and nephew, Nathan Strobel.

Funeral services for Russ will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Douglas Stowe officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions received will be placed in an education fund for Russ’ children, and are greatly appreciated.
