Obit: Tensa Fields

Tensa M. Fields (nee Brauns-Altoff) of West Bend, WI peacefully joined her Heavenly Father, and the love of her life, C. Myron Fields, on January 30, 2016 in Rhinelander, WI with family by her side.

She was under the care of Ministry Homecare Hospice Services.  Tensa was born on June 22, 1918 in Milwaukee, WI. She met Myron at a church dance in 1934 and they were married in Milwaukee on November 6, 1937. Tensa and Myron’s marriage spanned a wonderful 60 years, its Earthly end coming with Myron’s death in 1997. Great relief is taken by their family in knowing they are reunited.

After family, friends and her church, playing cards was Tensa’s great passion. She was a prolific knitter and a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Tensa retired from the United States Census Bureau in 1983.

Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Hortense Keller and brother, Hort Brauns.

Survived by son Dr. Gary (Carmen) of Wadsworth, IL , daughter Janet Winnicki (Kenneth) of Rhinelander and son Douglas (Roxana Reitz) of Withee, WI. Grandchildren Gregg (Julie) of Lakewood, IL, Timm (Margaret) of Libertyville, IL, Kristynn Schmitt (William) of Wadsworth, IL; Lynn Strowig (Gregory) of Franklin, WI, Kenneth Winnicki (Marna) of Rhinelander, Steven Winnicki of Madison, WI; Cassandra Mayek of Joplin, MO and Asa Fields of Bend, OR. Great-grandchildren Alexandria and Meghan Fields; Colin and Emma Fields; Lukas, Gabriel and Samuel Schmitt; Katherine Strowig; Makenna and Abishea Winnicki; Joey Rosedale, Jessica and James Finegan,  Darian and Alyssa Wightman.  Tensa is also survived by other family and many dear friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church (323 S 5th Ave, West Bend) with Pastor Wes Falk presiding.  The Visitation will be held at church on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 10:00am until the time of Service at 11:00am. Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cedar Ridge Community (Cedar Community Foundation, Inc., 113 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend), Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend or Ministry Homecare Hospice Services (1864 N Stevens St, Rhinelander, WI 54501) are appreciated.
