Obit: Theodore R. “Ted/Teddy” Miller, 74, of Kewaskum

July 7, 2017 – Kewaskum, WI – Theodore R. “Ted/Teddy” Miller, 74, of Kewaskum, was called home to heaven on July 4th, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa with his loving family by his side.

He was born on September 27, 1942, in Kewaskum, the son of the late Edward E. “Pat” and Mary Ellen “Mae” (nee Little) Miller.  Ted attended Holy Trinity Catholic Grade School and graduated from Kewaskum High School.  On June 18, 1994, he was united in marriage to Patricia Oberbruner at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.  Ted was the bookkeeper and treasurer at Miller’s Furniture Store in Kewaskum his entire life until his retirement in 2007.

Ted was a sports enthusiast his entire life but his true passion was baseball.  His love for baseball started at an early age and continued to grow.  Ted started as a bat boy and later umpired and coached working his way up to scorekeeper for the Kewaskum A’s.  He was scorekeeper for 53 years and rarely missed a game.  Ted was also a devoted Kewaskum Lions Club member for many years serving as a both president and treasurer and a local boy scout leader years ago.

Those Ted leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 23 years Patricia; two sisters, Isabelle Straub and Clare (Bill) Lehmann both of Kewaskum; a sister-in-law, Sharron Miller of Kewaskum; six brothers-in-law, Paul Dean of Kewaskum, Ken Oberbruner of Madison, Dan (Lisa) Oberbruner of Ontario, Larry Oberbruner of Waukesha, Jamey (Cindy) Oberbruner of Waukesha and Dick Oberbruner of Chicago, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by three sisters, Sr. Donna Miller O.S.F., Joan Dean, and Mary Ellen (John) McElhatton; three brothers, Robert, David and Edward Miller; a nephew, Daniel Dean; two step-mothers, Virginia Miller and Lucina “Lu” Miller; a brother-in-law; Hugo Straub and his parents-in-law, Ken and Ruth Oberbruner.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ted will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St., in Kewaskum.  Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be held the following day at 10:00 a.m. in the parish cemetery.

The Miller family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kewaskum Lions Club or a charity of your choice are appreciated.

The Miller family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend, Froedtert Hospital of Wauwatosa, Kewaskum EMT’s, and Kewaskum Police Department for all their efforts.  Also a special thank you to Rev. Jerome Repenshek who came to give Ted his last rights.
