Obit: Thomas Dahlen, Jr., 44, formerly of West Bend

 

August 22, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Dear Packer Nation, you have lost your biggest fan.  We just wanted to champion a guy who put his family first at every turn and then maybe put the team second.

Thomas Dahlen, Jr. formerly of West Bend, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Kathy Hospice at the age of 44 years.  He was born on September 24, 1973 in Milwaukee to Thomas, Sr. and Wendy (nee Milanowski) Dahlen.

As a child, his family moved to West Bend.  For many years, he played baseball with West Bend Little League teams.  He attended local schools, and later West Bend East High School where he participated in the wrestling program.  He graduated with the Class of 1992.

He was a skilled carpenter who took great amount of pride in his work.  This was one of his many passions.

He loved spending time outdoors.  When he wasn’t watching his beloved Packers, he enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening.

On October 5, 2013, he and Erika Norem, along with his children Courtney and Tyler, were united as a family.

He leaves behind his wife Erika; their children Courtney and Tyler; his mother Wendy; sister and brother Lisa (Steve) Arndt and Eric Dahlen; his parents-in-law Eric and Heidie Norem; his four-legged children Abbey, Bella and Boo; sister-in-law Andrea (Eric) Nehrkorn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Tom and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24 at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Mr. Dan Schroeder officiating.  Private burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park.  The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 6:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for the benefit of the family appreciated.
