December 5, 2023 – Hartford, WI – Anna Maria Rettler (nee Muesch), 88, of Hartford Wisconsin passed away peacefully at Serenity Villa in Slinger Wisconsin, on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Anna Maria was born on August 25, 1935, to Gertrude (nee Kumpil) and Joseph Muesch in Newburg Wisconsin.
Anna Maria was united in marriage to Wallace Rettler on June 25, 1955, at St. Kilian Catholic church in Hartford Wisconsin.
She met the love of her life and together they raised 7 children on the family farm. She was very talented in many things; crafts, sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking. She always enjoyed a conversation with a good friend or family member. Christmas time was a special time of the year because she would enjoy baking over 20 different batches of candies and cookies.

If you were visiting, she would make sure your belly was full of her homemade meals. She had a candy dish that was always filled for anyone that stopped in to talk.

She was the best Mom, Grandma & Great Grandma one could wish for, and she was known for her suffocating hugs and rocking many of her grandchildren to sleep.

She is survived by her children; Mark (Sue) of Hancock WI, Luke (Chris) of Brooklyn NY, Paul (Jane) of Clyman WI, John (Joann) of Neosho WI, Peter (Kelly) of West Bend WI, Anne (Steve) Ledwith of Neenah WI, Mary (Whitey) Wagner of Hartford WI; grandchildren, Matt (Jess), Michael (Amber), Stephen, Kenny (Jo), Trina (Jake), Cindy, Hattie Mae (Chase), Leeander, Brady, Jessica, Jacob (Ashley), Joe, Justine (Andy), Justin (Dana), Austin (Briana), Quintin (Brooke), Paytin, Jack (Sarah), Drew, Max, Maddie, Mitchell, Nicholas, Zachary, Andrew, Mason, Logan (Kelley);, and 25 loved great grandchildren. A sister Gertie Krebs, sisters in-laws Marlene Muesch and June (Charlie) Hagen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Wallace in September of 2023, siblings Katie Pfeifer, Joe and Henry Muesch, Grandchildren, Claytin and Lexy Rettler; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
The family would also like to extend special thanks to Serenity Villa III, Julie her nurse and the entire staff. You made our mom’s final home a place where she was treated just like everyone’s Grandma. You were all of Grandma’s Angels and we thank you for all your love you showed to her! Also, to Preceptor Home Health Care for your care and compassion you showed to our Mom.

A Memorial Mass for Anna will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford Wisconsin with Rev. Britto Suresh officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery in Hartford Wisconsin.
