If you knew our Benn, you’d remember his laugh, gentle sarcasm, quick wit, and especially his free spirit. He was always willing to share his vast knowledge of automobiles, racing or any general topics of interest.

Benn was always there whenever you needed him. Those that knew him always remembered his kindness, respect, and quiet demeanor.

Benn was born May 26, 1977, in Hartford, WI., and entered eternal life on Saturday, December 24, 2022. He was a 1995 Hartford High School graduate and took classes at MPTI.

Benn’s had an insatiable interest in old cars, and especially the 1958 Plymouth Fury and anything “Christine” related. Coming from a historical background of racing, anything related to his grandfather’s racing totally piqued his interest.

His ability to fix just about anything was his crowning effect and was always willing to help whenever he could.

He enjoyed “metal detecting” often sharing his ability and experiences with family and friends.

Growing up, he had a strong interest in nature, (especially moths & butterflies) that carried over into his adult life.

Benn was also an avid volunteer with his Dad and the Cemeterians.

Benn is survived by his loving parents Rex and Joan (nee Hahn) Melius; brother Josh (Ashley) Melius, sister Abbe (Tim) Grebel; cherished nephews Weston, Emerson & Harrison. Benn is further survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Benn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Miles & June Melius, Jerome & Joyce Hahn and cousin Andy Melius.

A celebration of life for Benn will be held on Saturday, January 7 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, WI. Benn’s family welcomes relatives and friends to remember and celebrate Benn’s life. Please dress casually, it’s what Benn would want.
