Jan. 7, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Beverly J. “Bev” Metz (nee Landy) age 79, of Hartford went home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

Obituary | Beverly J. "Bev" Metz, 79, of Hartford

She was born on August 11, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Willard and Gladys (Beeman) Landy. She was united in marriage to Robert Metz on October 19, 1968 in Mexico and then renewed their vows in March of 1971 at the Assembly of God in Arizona.

Bev was a survivor of cancer at the age of 30 and was her testimony for the way she lived her life. Her and Robert were foster parents at Sunshine Acres Children Home in AZ and adopted four children. She was one of the original founders of Hartford Assembly of God and her faith was very important to her. Bev enjoyed floral design and worked as a florist for many years. Her passion however was cat breeding and taking them to shows were she had several grand champion winners throughout the years. She also raised fish and was simply a lover of all animals. Bev was also a great interior decorator, enjoyed knitting, crafting, and making things for others and for Operation Christmas Child. Bev always put others before herself and was a devoted wife and mother.

Bev is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Dean (Yvonne) Risch of Slinger, Eric Metz of Hartford, Scott (fiancée Heather) Metz of Beaver Dam, Mitchell Metz of Hartford, Stephanie Kempka of Waupun, Danny (Tracie) Kempka of Tampa Bay, Florida, and Monica Metz of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Eric, Amy (Ben), Victoria, Ashley, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Micah, Jocelynn, Malachi, Noah, and Cheryl. Sister Joan Raabe of Princeton, WI; nieces and nephews Brenda (Bruce), Doug, and Tim (Donna). She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Tom Raabe.

Funeral services for Bev will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Hartford Assembly of God Church (3170 Co Rd K, Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Bryan McDowell officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 – 11:45 a.m.
