December 16, 2019 – West Bend, WI –Dolores W. Johnson (nee Schneider) was called home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2019 at New Perspective Senior Living in West Bend. She was born January 31, 1921 in West Bend to John A. and Josephine A. Schneider (nee Hausmann).
Dolores graduated from West Bend High School in 1938; she attended Miss Brown’s Business School in Milwaukee and also Milwaukee Area Technical College in Oak Creek. She moved to Milwaukee in 1945 and worked as an Accountant / Secretary for Milwaukee County. Dolores was married to Charles T. Johnson who preceded her in death on November 10, 1997.
After retirement in 1983, Dolores and Charles moved to Big Cedar Lake in the Town of West Bend. After Charles’ death Dolores moved to the City of West Bend.
Dolores’ interests included golfing, gardening, and quilting. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with family and friends. Dolores had a passion for collecting cookie jars and salt & pepper shakers. She was delighted to bestow each member of her family with a cookie jar and/or a quilt.
Dolores was also active with the Christian Women’s Group at St. James in Franklin; later at St. Matthias in Nabob and Holy Angels in West Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Evansville, IN and Michael (Norma) of Cynthiana, IN. Two grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Suzanne Michaela; one sister, Pauline Schoenecker of West Bend; three sisters-in-law, Frances Schneider of West Bend, Grace (James) Stuart of Pennsylvania, Shirley (Nolan) Perry of Texas; one brother-in-law, Richard (Pat) Johnson of Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Dolores was preceded in death by two brothers, John Schneider and Joseph Schneider; three sisters, Rita (Raymond) Ritger, Josephine (George) Scherrer, and Ramona (William) Schulteis; and brother-in-law, William Schoenecker.
A Mass of Christian Burial, to celebrate Dolores’ life, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4868 State Rd 175, Hartford. Rev. Richard Stoffel will officiate.
Dolores’ family will greet relatives and friends at Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Masses in Dolores’ name or donations to a charity of your choice preferred. Burial will be at St. Matthias Cemetery in Nabob.
Dolores’ family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at New Perspective Senior Living and Seasons Hospice for the loving care they provided.
