Obituary | Gene Arthur Hecker, 79, of Brookfield, WI

September 14, 2022 – Brookfield, WI – Gene Arthur Hecker, 79, of Brookfield, WI, was called home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2022, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc surrounded by his loving family.

Gene was born on February 24, 1943, in Milwaukee to Arthur and Lydia  (Mahlke) Hecker.  He was united in marriage to Carol Lee Fijalkowski on October 19, 1963, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

Gene graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee.  He proudly served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.  Gene owned and operated Trident Sales and Service in New Berlin for over 50 years.  He and Carol enjoyed spending many winters in Fort Myers, Florida.  Gene will be remembered as a man of strong faith by family and friends.

Those Gene leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Carol; siblings, Roger (Carol) Hecker, Carol (John) Wirkkula, Cheryl (the late Gary) Schellhaas, Dennis (Carolyn) Hecker, David (Nancy) Hecker, Gary (Cheryl) Hecker, and Judy (Steve) Miller; sisters-in-law, Lisa Hecker and Paula Gabrish; and brother-in-law, Mark Goriesky.  He is further survived by long-time business colleague, Valerie Brown; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by brothers, Danny Hecker and Randy Hecker, Sr.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Creek Church, N35 W22000 Capitol Dr., Pewaukee, WI, with Rev. Chip Bernhard officiating.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.  Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc for their exceptional care and compassion.
