March 20, 2020 – West Bend, WI – Gilbert “Gib” A. Flitter, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at New Perspectives in West Bend. He was born on June 25, 1930 in West Bend, WI to Edward and Edna (nee Butzke) Flitter.
Gib worked and retired from the WI Electric Power Company in1988 as a Cost Analyst. He enjoyed spending time up at the cabin on Pickeral Lake and playing sheepshead with family and friends. Gib was passionate about playing his accordion. Towards the end of his life, he enjoyed taking trips to the local casinos.
Gib is survived by his children, Thomas, Connie Roeper, Jim (Irene), Charmaine (Ben) Kopp; daughter-in-law Judy Flitter; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law Darlene Kremer. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Gib is preceded in death by his loving wife Marie, son Donald, his parents and his brother-in-law Merlin Kremer.
Due to CDC restrictions, Gib will be placed at the Washington County Memorial Park with a Celebration of Life happening at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Croix Hospice and New Perspectives for the kindness they showed him over the last few months of his life.
