April 12, 2020 – Hartford, WI – Joseph N. “Little Joe” Tanck, 64, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in Pennsylvania in a trucking accident.
Joe was born October 22, 1955 in Wausau, WI to Therese (nee Frank) and Earl Tanck. He served his country in the United States Navy in Vietnam. Joe was united in marriage to Barbara M. Schraufnagel on August 14, 1982 at St. Kilian Catholic Church. He worked for Krebs Trucking for over 20 years. Joe’s mother Therese loved taking road trips with him in his truck. He especially loved watching his daughter ice skate and watching plays and concerts. Joe also said goodbye to his relatives by saying “spread the love around.”
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Barbara Tanck; loving daughter Kira; maternal uncles, Jim (Connie) Handlos of New Berlin, John (Debbie) Handlos of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Bobby King of Florida; paternal uncle, Marlin Tanck and brother-in-law David Schraufnagel. He is further survived by loved nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends from Wausau.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Tanck; and his sister, Katherine.
A private family service will be held at the Shimon Funeral Home. The family will also have a celebration of life gathering at a future date for all Joe’s family and friends.
