September 11, 2020 – Hartford, WI – The Good Lord called his servant, Marguerite W. Perkins, home to her eternal reward the evening of September 9.
Marguerite (Marge) Perkins was born in Fond du Lac on May 8, 1936 to Edwin and Hertha Wagner. She attended school in Fond du Lac and graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1954. Marge continued her education at UW Oshkosh where she graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1958. Later in life, she received her masters of library science degree from UW-Milwaukee. She spent her entire career as a teacher in the Wauwatosa School District with the exception of one year in California.
Marge married her college sweetheart Almer Perkins of Oshkosh in Fond du Lac on June 20, 1959. Besides being an elementary school librarian, Marge enjoyed a lifetime love of books and reading, discussing books and encouraging others to read. She has called Fond du Lac, Apple Valley, CA, Wauwatosa, Brookfield and Hartford, WI home.
Preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law Kevin Conroy, Marge is survived by her husband of 61 years Almer Grant Perkins of Hartford, WI, son David Edwin Perkins of Huntsville, AL, daughter Ann Elizabeth Conroy of Hartford, WI, grandsons James K Fabry of Palo Alto, CA and Zachary G. Fabry and his wife Ashley of Sun Prairie, WI. She is also survived by two cousins; Arthur Wegner of Fond du Lac and Mary K. Schmidt of Grafton and many friends.
Marge has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated. Private committal will be held at Rienzi Cemetery, Fond du Lac.
