Obituary | Marilyn T. Gierach, 87, formerly of West Bend, WI

February 26, 2024West Bend, WI – Marilyn Gierach, a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away at the age of 87 on February 23, 2024, at her home. Marilyn was born in West Bend, Wisconsin. She met and married her husband Eldred Gierach in 1959. They were happily married for 64 years.

After High School, Marilyn worked on the first-generation IBM Data Processing machine for the West Bend Company for 4 years. She loved this job.

Eldred and Marilyn owned a small hardware store, heating and air conditioning business in Jackson, Wisconsin until they retired. After retiring, they bought an RV and drove around North America and enjoyed the campground life. They made it all around the country without a smartphone or Google maps.

She enjoyed painting, ceramics, and needlepoint. They decorated floats for the Rose Bowl, helped build churches, and houses for Habitat for Humanity.

They have been residents of Lakeland for the past 20 years.

Marilyn attended Hope Community Church. She was a member of the Highlands Fairways Singers. She enjoyed the Pinochle Card Group, shuffleboard, senior games, and an avid supporter of American Cancer Society Walk for Life.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Eldred Gierach, her children Daniel Gierach (Erika), Debora Misch (Dr. David Misch), Donald Gierach, Deeann Hobbs (Carlos), her brother Robert Groth, Grandchildren Alexander Misch, Benjamin Misch, Carissa Misch, Jessica Hobbs and Selina Hobbs. Preceded in death by her brother Marvin Groth and her parents Edgar and Julia Groth (Frommholz).

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. with funeral services to begin at 10 a.m., Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens.
