Obituary | Martin “Butch” Madajewski, 82, of West Bend, WI

January 28, 2022 – West Bend, WI – Martin “Butch” Madajewski was born in a house in Swedetown, MI on October 7, 1939, to his parents Steve and Josephine (nee Sterk) Madajewski. He and his brother Jim and their sister Patricia went to Calumet High School where Butch graduated in 1958. They had twin brothers John and Andrew that passed away very young.

Butch served in the National Guard and went into the Navy from 1958 to 1961. He came back to Calumet and met Margaret “Honey” Kuru and her daughter Susan Charmaine Kuru, eventually marrying Honey and adopting Susie then making the move to Milwaukee, WI. Butch and Honey had two more children Michelle (Missy) and Russell.
While Honey kept the home; Butch worked at several jobs working the last job at Lippert Corporation for 35 years then, in 1992, Honey passed away.
A few years later he met and married Fay Mittlesdorf from Lake Linden MI. They lived in West Bend, WI for a time and then moved to Hancock, MI. In 2012, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and eventually moved to Munising, MI in the Treetop Care Facility. After Fay’s death in 2016, Butch’s daughter Missy and son Russell brought him back to West Bend, WI to Samaritan Home where he lived out his last years.
He is survived by his children Michelle “Missy” Hansen (husband Jeff) and their daughter Skyler Moser (husband Steve) West Bend, WI; son Russell and his children son Collin and daughter Rowan from Fayetteville, NY. He also has his brother James Madajewski (wife Sandy) and nephews Jim, John, and Scott from Calumet, MI; sister Patricia Walters (husband Delmar “Bud”; deceased) in California.

He was a good-humored man until his death and made an impression on everyone he met. The caretakers at Samaritan had wonderful stories on how Butch made them laugh. We all will miss having Butch in our lives.

There will be a memorial service in Calumet, MI at the Ryan Funeral Home later this year.
