Obituary | Richard “Dick” A. Gamroth, Sr., 86, of Allenton

January 26, 2020 – Allenton, WI –Richard A. Gamroth Sr. “Dick”, 86, of Allenton, Wisconsin went peacefully to be the with Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 in the comfort of his own home.

Richard was born June 23, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to Ralph and Florence (nee Kolter) Gamroth. He was united in marriage to Emily Adams on July 7, 1951 at Evangelical Lutheran Congregational Church in Milwaukee, WI.

Richard’s faith was the center of his life and his love for the Lord. He was a long-time member at Hartford Bible Church (formerly First Congregational Church). Richard was a heavy equipment operating engineer for 68 years and was a proud member of the local 139 where he served as a Business Agent as well. He loved the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, trap shooting or golfing.

He also enjoyed baseball and in 2015 he was named the team fan of the year for the West Bend 7Up baseball team and in 2019 he was named the Land O’Lakes League Fan of the year. Richard loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially, teaching them how to work on or fix things. He enjoyed laughter, telling jokes and was his families master storyteller.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Emily, children Richard A. Jr. “Rick” and Debra (Rick) Parrent; grandchildren, Joshua (Melissa) Parrent, Matthew (Robbi) Parrent, Jessica (Matt) Englhardt, Janelle Gamroth, and Jason (Kelsey) Gamroth; great-grandchildren, Kellan and Celia Engelhardt, Landon and Blake Parrent, Ashlor Parrent and Ethan Gamroth. Siblings Donald, Bill and Carol Gamroth; sister-in-law Ruth Gamroth. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children Linda Lee and Mary and brother Jerry Gamroth.

Funeral services for Richard will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford, WI 53027. Family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 3:30 – 5:45 p.m.

Private interment in Washington County Memorial Park.
