OBITUARY | Robert “Bob” John Martin, 55, of West Bend, WI

February 14, 2024 – West Bend, WI – Robert J. “Bob” Martin, 55, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2024, at Aurora Hospital in Hartford surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on June 14, 1968, in Hartford to Douglas and Marian Martin (nee Beine).  He was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Herriges (nee Theurer) on October 14, 1995 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.

Bob started as a patrolman in Hustisford and Jackson Police Departments. Bob was then hired by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, and additionally did lake patrol around Pike Lake in Hartford. Over the years, he was part of the drug unit, SWAT team, detective bureau, and retired as a Lieutenant of Patrol after 24 years of service. When Bob wasn’t at work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and being outdoors.

Those Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years, Charlotte; children, Robert “Bobby” (Mara) Martin II, Jonathon “Jon” Martin, Richard “Richie” (Sarah) Herriges, and Candace “Candy” (Josh) Koning; grandchildren, Damien, Silas, and Fiona Herriges and Sawyer and Xavier Koning; siblings, Scott Martin, Judy Martin, Kathy Rosine, Laura (Mike) Lentz, Cindy (Mike) Loosen, and Jay Martin. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Martin.

VISITATION:  Bob’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N 8th Avenue, West Bend, WI – 53095).

SERVICE:  A Memorial Mass in remembrance of Bob will take place at Holy Angels on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Howard Haase officiating.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Aurora Hartford Hospital and Hospice for their care and compassion. Also, special recognition to Jess and AJ from Hope After Hardship for their care of Bob during the last five months.
