February 23, 2022 – Waupun, WI – Roberta Hoffman (nee Rettig) was born November 12, 1956 to Robert and Miriam (nee Peraian) Rettig. She moved to her permanent address on February 16, 2022.
Roberta (Bert, Berta) fought a 7-year battle with cancer with courage and grace.
She attended Hartford Union High School, Marquette University, Georgetown University, and UW-Milwaukee.
Her passion for serving Jesus was extraordinary. She loved learning the Word and teaching it, so much so that she went to Ukraine as a missionary and served as a financial assistant and history teacher in Kiev.
Berta was a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and good friend. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Miriam Rettig, sister Rodine Rettig, brother Richard Rettig, and husband Cal Hoffman.
She is survived by her sons, Charlie and Raymond (Cel) Davis, sisters Rachel (Glen Schimelpfenig) Crossville, TN Rebecca (Bryan Moser) West Bend, Rhonda (Alan Michalski) Marshfield, WI, Rita (Michael Krueger) Tomahawk, WI, and brothers Raymond (Lisa Rettig), Lubbock, TX and Wayne (Sue Rettig), Allenton, WI.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held Saturday, February 26, at 2 p.m., at Crossroads Fellowship, 846 E Main, Waupun, WI.
The Agape Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Lubbock, TX assisted the family.
I am so sorry for your loss, Rettig Family. She was a great person. She lived a courageous life. The memory of Bert will live on in our hearts . God Bless you all.
