Obituary: Ronald A. Budahn, 81, of Hartford

Dec. 11, 2018 – Hartford, WI – Ronald “Ronnie” A. Budahn, age 81, went home to the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2018.

He was born in Leroy Township on November 29, 1937 to parents Alfons and Marcella (Schrab) Budahn. Ronnie was baptized on January 23, 1938 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mayville and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, on March 18, 1951. He was united in marriage on October 3, 1959 at Zum Kripplein Christi to Marlene Haslow. In his early years, he ran the family farm in the town of Herman. Ronnie retired in 2001 after 27 years of service at Farmers Inc, Allenton. In retirement he drove for Dave’s Excavating.

Ronnie liked to fish, hunt, garden and spend time at the cottage on Post Lake with family and friends. Many days were spent fishing with his best fishing partner, Marlene. He was also an avid Brewer’s fan. Ronnie was a talented mechanic and could fix most things with a motor. Every summer a big garden was planted with an abundance of beautiful fruits and vegetables, enough for the entire family.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; two daughters, Gale (Randy) Broker and Sharon (John) Stocker; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Heinitz, Craig (Carrie) Broker and Kelly (John) Broker-Campbell; four great-grandchildren, Sam, Paige, Lucas and Benji; one sister, Leola Christian; brother-in-law, Willard (Shirley) Haslow; sister-in-law, El May Steinbach; also survived by other relatives and friends.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Darvin Christian and Paul Steinbach.

Funeral Services for Ronnie will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, W691 County Rd S, Hartford on Friday, December 14 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Jeffery Drake presiding. Visitation for family and friends at the Church from 10:30 AM until time of service. Committal in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Trinity Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the Allenton and West Bend Rescue for their care and support.
