November 26, 2019 – Slinger, WI – Rosemary Merkes, 88, Saturday, November 23, 2019. She was born in Stratford on March 23, 1931 to parents Anton and Theresa (Baur) Schoenfuss. Rosemary was united in marriage on June 14, 1950 to Hubert Merkes. Rosemary enjoyed playing cards and board games, tending to her garden, bird watching and attending the grandchildren’s events.
Rosemary is survived by six children, Debra Merkes, Perry (Roxie), Jeff (Diane), Tina (Gene) Conley, Dave (Roxie G.) and Randy (Kelly); eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Bea Merkes; two brothers, Ted Schoenfuss and Leonard (Eleanor) Schoenfuss; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 148 W. Lehman St., Neosho on Monday, December 2, at 12 Noon with Rev. Justin Lopina presiding. Visitation for family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The family would like to thank the staff at Froedtert – St. Joseph Hospital, West Bend and Kathy Hospice for their care and support.
