It is with great sadness the Thiensville Fire Department announces the passing of Retired Chief William F. Rausch. Chief Rausch was a member of the department for almost 60 years, and served as Chief for over 35 years.

During his time as Chief, he helped progress our department forward. He was integral in starting Ozaukee County’s first paramedic service. Chief Rausch also served as president of the Wisconsin Fire Chief’s Association. These are a few of the fundamental accomplishments that occurred while he functioned as the Fire Chief of the Thiensville Fire Department.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this time.

The visitation is on Monday, February 18 at Lumen Christi Catholic Parish located at 2750 W. Mequon Road in Mequon.

There will be a Fire Department walk through at 5:15 pm and the service will commence at 6 pm
