September 14, 2023 – West Bend, WI – West JV1 Spartans played the Hartford Orioles at home this week. Unfortunately, the Spartans lost a tough match in three sets with scores of 26-24, 25 – 23, 25 – 16. The match was very close.
For the West team, Claire Lemke had some great blocks, and Ella Henschel did an amazing job getting to every ball as the setter. Shae Hagel had 4 ace serves, Emmalee Heniadis had 10 kills, Elle Herschel had 7 assists, Katie Steier had 16 digs and Claire Lemke had 3 blocks.
Although the Spartans lost, the team played with passion. The Spartans are currently 2 – 1 in the North Shore Conference. Their next match is Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Port Washington with a 5:30 p.m. start time.
