May 12, 2026 – Kewaskum, Wi – Some businesses in the Village of Kewaskum have closed their doors this evening, May 12, 2026, at 6 p.m. as the area is experiencing a major power outage.
As of 6 p.m. We Energies is reporting 1790 people without power.
In Washington County, Wi, We Energies is reporting 2856 outages as of 6 p.m.
The Village of Richfield has 405 outages and Hartford has 186 people without power. The Village of Jackson has 20 outages and Slinger has 6.
High winds have swept through the area, but there’s no confirmation on the cause of the outage.

Since winds weren’t much higher than several other times this year already, I’m starting to think a branch may have taken down a line. Don’t we pay WE energies enough to maintain nearby hazards?? Losing $150 worth of food in my refrigerator, guess I’ll add it to my monthly energy bill.
