Driver stopped for OWI in Washington County had 3 children in vehicle

July 13, 2021 – Washington Co., Wi – Eric Michael Johnson, 27, from New London has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Waukesha Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with three children in the vehicle under the age of 16.

On July 11, 2021 a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle at 11:09 p.m. for 109 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-41 northbound near Allenton. Three juveniles, aged 11, 3, and 2 were in the vehicle along with two adults. The Trooper observed signs of intoxication coming from the driver.

Standardized field sobriety tests were administered, and the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated 1st offense, with a minor child in the vehicle.

The Washington County Sheriffs Office assisted on scene. “Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
