Park admission waived for this summer’s Traveling Beer Garden tour in Washington County

April 25, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – The Washington County Parks Department said it will waive admission to the park during its Traveling Beer Garden this summer.

Earlier this month the Washington County Park and Trail System announced a new public-private partnership with Black Husky Brewing from Milwaukee.  Black Husky will host a series of traveling beer gardens throughout Washington County.

One of the questions from neighbors eager to take advantage of the beer garden asked was whether they’d have to get a park pass to attend.

“We are still working to finalize the contract but we do plan to allow free entry to the parks for beer garden patrons during the beer garden times,” said Jamie Ludovic, Central Services Director.

In December 2017 the Washington County Parks Department announced it would begin charging visitors $5 daily pass or $30 annual sticker.

This fee system is similar to existing entrance-fee models like the Wisconsin State Park System and the Waukesha County Park System.

  1. Ackerman’s Grove County Park – 4875 Cty Hwy Z, West Bend, WI 53095
  2. Glacier Hills County Park – 1664 Friess Lake Rd., Hubertus, WI 53033
  3. Heritage Trails County Park – 4668 Cty Hwy E, Slinger, WI 53086

  6. Sandy Knoll County Park – 2064 Wallace Lake Rd., West Bend, WI 53090

Washington County Park Pass
The idea of paying to get into the county parks ruffled a few feathers with taxpayers and when the beer garden tour was announced many wondered if a park pass would be required to attend.

According to Ludovic, the answer is “no.” The beer garden tour schedule is below.

About Black Husky Brewing

Black Husky Brewing was started in 2010 in a small log cabin in the woods in the rural town of Pembine, WI. Inspired by the dogs in their son’s sled dog kennel, co-founders Tim Eichinger and Toni Eichinger named the brewery after their beloved husky Howler. Each of their beers is associated with the dogs from the kennel as a tribute to the loyalty and companionship that defined each of them. In 2016, Black Husky moved its brewery operations to the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee where it currently operate a taproom and produce their beers.
