Washington County, WI – In December 2004, LuAnn Zuern Schwai sat down and talked about her life with author Don Ensenbach. The conversations were transformed into a biography that includes the Schwai family’s legendary catering, tavern, and bar.

LuAnn Schwai passed away June 15, 2008. She was the co-owner of Schwai’s Country Tavern, Store, and Hall of Cedar Creek for over 40 years.

About the author: Don Ensenbach currently lives in Arizona with his wife Opal; they have been married for over 63 years.  LuAnn’s story was finished on December 6th, 2004.  Shortly thereafter, Ensenbach began writing the autobiography for one of LuAnn’s best friends and classmates, Mary Pat Flynn. Ensenbach has also written about an Italian member of the New York Mafia, who became a salesman for garbage trucks throughout the state of New York. 

Ensenbach also wrote about Native American and historical stories that have been published and distributed through Stairway Press of Las Vegas.
