Police investigate stabbing in neighboring Fond du lac County | Fond du Lac Police Dept.

December 4, 2023 – Fond du Lac County, WI – On Monday, December 4, 2023, at approximately 4:31 a.m., the City of Fond du Lac Police Department (FDLPD) and City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to the 100 block of East 1st Street for a report of a fight where one person had been stabbed in the hand inside the residence by a roommate.

FDL Police Department Officers worked collaboratively with the Fond du Lac County Communications Center to direct the individual who sustained the stab wound to safely exit the residence. The injured male, a 35-year-old Fond du Lac resident was treated at the scene by City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his hand.
FDL Police Department Officers set up a perimeter and successfully negotiated for nearly 20 minutes over the phone with the suspect to peacefully surrender as he remained inside the residence. FDLPD Officers took the 44-year-old Fond du Lac male suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect was transported to a local hospital with an unrelated medical issue. Once medically cleared the suspect will be transferred to the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges stemming from this act of violence.
The investigation into the circumstances that led up to the stabbing is active and ongoing at this time. Both individuals live together and this is an isolated act of violence.
The investigation is at the preliminary stages and remains active.
No further details or information are being released at this time.
The FDLPD was assisted by the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue.
